The material used is “AISI 304 18/10” stainless steel, so called because of its chromium/nickel ratio with 18% chromium (to increase hardness and abrasion resistance while giving shine and durability) and 10% nickel (to give strength and impact resistance). The Centro Inox label (Italian Association for the Design and Development of Stainless Steel Applications) gives CM’s customers tangible proof of the quality of our material. This mark attests that only EN10020 compliant stainless steel is used; a hygienic, non-toxic material that can withstand high and low temperatures, is 100% recyclable, has a long-lasting elegant and versatile look, and has the important property of not rusting when exposed to air and water. Stainless steel has a unique property: it is self-protecting. A fine, transparent patina forms on its surface, thanks to the alloy elements. It is a protective film made up of only a few atoms of alloy elements – oxides composed of chromium, which is in immediate contact with the oxygen contained in water or air when scratched or heated, thereby protecting the underlying material from corrosive attack. Put simply, this material cannot rust as it already has an oxide on its surface; chromium oxide.
The label, issued by Centro Inox Servizi srl (a subsidiary Company of Centro Inox, the Italian Association for the Design and Development of Stainless Steel Applications) differentiate the "stainless steel" material as defined in EN10020 standard. Stainless steel is an alloy that joins mechanical resistance properties of steel to a corrosion high resistance.
It is a hygienic, non-toxic material that can withstand high and low temperatures, is 100% recyclable, has an elegant and versatile look, and if chosen, processed and treated appropriately, is very long-lasting and durable.
This label accompanies the wording "inox 18/10", which identifies the type of steel.
All this gives our customers proof and confirmation that CM S.p.A. only uses 18/10 stainless steel, as certified in our suppliers’ control documents.
CM guarantees its own sinks for a period of 2 (two) years from the production date.
This guarantee covers the defects of:
- material; we guarantee that the sink is produced with AISI 304 18/10 stainless steel
- production/working; we guarantee that:
• the sink, after the correct installation, in a conventional domestic environment, has not any sharp and/or other potentially dangerous parts
• the sink, subject to a proper use and a correct maintenance, talking about its strength and its welding, remains intact (the welds don’t break and the bowls remain watertight);
• the sink is completely supplied with all the components as indicated in the contract.
CM guarantees for a period of 2 (two) years from the supply date:
- plastic components
- sound-absorbing panels
